Sadolin Superdec Opaque Wood Protection

Resinous deposits on bare timber, especially new wood, should be removed by wiping with a lint-free cloth dampened with methylated spirits
Knotting agents should not be used in conjunction with Sadolin Opaque Wood Protection
Sadolin Wood Filler or Sadolin Stainable Wood Filler may be used for making good any minor surface defects, imperfections or open joints
Some general or ‘All Purpose’ fillers may not be suitable
Only use non-ferrous fixings, screws and nails
Where there is a risk of extractive discolouration, especially when using white or pale colours on resinous / knotty softwoods and coloured hardwoods, an initial coat of a suitable blocking primer is recommended in order to minimise the risk of this type of discolouration
Timber that has been exposed for 4 weeks or more will require sanding back to a clean, sound surface
If required, pre-treat wood with Sadolin Quick Drying Wood Preserver before applying Sadolin Superdec
Lightly abrade (sand), in the direction of the grain to a smooth surface, using a medium grade abrasive paper
Do not break through the existing surface coating
Thoroughly remove all wood dust
Where there is localised damage, or deterioration has occurred as a result of exposure of the factory coating for longer than 3 months, affected areas should be thoroughly sanded back to a sound substrate and recoated

Sadolin Extra Durabel Woodstain

All traces of surface dirt and debris, including mould, algae and fungi, must be removed prior to application with a suitable exterior wood cleaner
Resinous deposits should be removed with a scraper
Degrease any exposed bare timber surface by wiping with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits
Dense exotic hardwoods tend to contain a lot of natural oil. Hardwoods such as Teak, Ipe, Meranti and Balau must be thoroughly de-greased with methylated spirits prior to applying Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain
Knotting agents should not be used with Sadolin Woodstain systems
Wood fillers specifically designed for use with exterior timber should be used for making good any minor surface defects, imperfections and open joints etc
Only use non-ferrous screws, nails and fixings

Sadolin Classic All Purpose Woodstain

Degrease any exposed bare timber surface by wiping with a lint-free cloth dampened with methylated spirits to remove any surface impurities or resinous deposits
Knotting agents should not be used with Sadolin woodstain systems
Hardwoods such as Teak, Ipe, Meranti and Balau must be thoroughly de-greased with methylated spirits prior to applying Sadolin Classic Wood Protection, as they contain a lot of natural oils
Any minor surface defects, imperfections or open joints can be filled with a suitable wood filler prior to coating
Only use non-ferrous screws, nails and fixings
